FIESTACON 2009

This last weekend was the National Conclave of the Arnold Air Society, which is the national, service organization for cadets in Air Force ROTC. The conference was in Phoenix, AZ and it was so nice to be in sun and 80 degree weather for a change.

For the society I have served as the National Business Chair for the last year, which has been a lot of work. Because of my position I chaired all of the business meetings during the weekend and handled all the business and motions that were brought to the floor. It is definitely an experience standing in front of 1000 people trying to pass legislation and follow the agenda.

It was a great weekend and I was able to catch up with a lot of friends and cadets that I have worked with and served with over the past couple years. At the end of the weekend I swore in my replacement and have turned everything over to him for the next year. Even though I am done with the position, I have been asked to come back next year and serve as an administrative consultant as an officer, which will be a great opportunity.

Me, Jere, and Dave (National Parliamentarian, and my replacement)

The Aggies grabbed me and Dan (National Commander) after the conclusion of business to throw us into the pool.

Getting thrown in the pool because we lost our gavels.
